Hey, I’m Lisa! Not only do I have personal lived experience of neurodiversity, I am a qualified ADHD coach with a practice founded in the neuroscience and clinical research.
When I’m not coaching you’ll find me doodling, or actively supporting our incredibly neurodiverse household!
Perspective Coaching provides an individual coaching service to neurodivergent children, teens, adults and families. These sessions are held on a weekly or fortnightly basis and are an opportunity to talk through a client’s current experiences and any difficulties they may have encountered as a result of their difference in processing.
Coaching provides the evidence-based education and understanding of where the root of these difficulties often is, and together with your coach, we may put in place a strategy to make things easier or we practise the radical acceptance of your processing and look to developing an accommodation to support your needs.
Some of the primary aims of Perspective Coaching’s work is to help clients of all ages develop a positive neurodivergent identity, understand their needs, learn how to meet those needs in order to regulate and where possible learn to advocate for accommodations and adjustments for themselves.
We understand the challenges you experience and can support you to learn about yourself and help you advocate for what you need.
We take the time to learn and engage with your children/teen clients by learning all about their special interests and hobbies.
We offer a non-judgemental, neuro-affirming (but also realistic) approach to supporting you with family life.
We have over 10 training presentations available to select fro m regarding neurodivergence in the school and workplace.
We offer a variety of services to support neurodivergent individuals, families and businesses.
Coaching sessions for both autistic adults and children to develop an understanding of their own individual autistic experience.
During sessions we explore the root of the difficulties that you are experiencing, understand their relevance to ADHD and put in place strategies to help.
We periodically deliver our in-person training programme online via live zoom video presentations open for anyone to attend.
We offer workplace training to facilitate better understanding and accomodation for neurodivergent individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Administrative Support services are available to existing coaching clients to provide support for advocacy, appeals and forms such as EHCPs.
Perspective Coaching is owned and operated by me, Lisa Poole.
I am both a parent and stepparent to five children, 3 of whom are diagnosed neurodivergent with various diagnoses including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia (DCD).
I have an ADHD diagnosis myself and so identify entirely with the ADHD experience and use this to relate to my clients and offer support and understanding based not only on the neuroscience and clinical research but also using my own lived experience. My same sex partner has a diagnosis of ASD and ADHD, so all together we create quite a neurodiverse team and as such our day-to-day life is a myriad of strategies, contingency plans, adaptions and above all, understanding.
Four of our children are in mainstream education, and one is home educated. As a family we have navigated first-hand the education, healthcare and welfare systems to ensure each of the children are receiving the support they need as an individual and in a way that prioritises their mental wellbeing above all else.
In our daily life, we take into account the emotional and practical needs of each person (including our own as adults) and support each other in a way that has become second nature for our family. As a group we have been and continue to be challenged daily with new and everchanging accommodations and needs. I have used this experience to train and seek further knowledge about how a neurodivergent brain works and what we can do to better understand each other.
Having this experience with my own children and realising the tremendous gap left by both the health and education systems after their diagnoses, led me to my decision to study further in order to drive my passion for my own family into the passion of helping other neurodiverse families. Teaching others to adapt to their differences is incredibly enlightening.
During coaching sessions, I use a model of awareness, action and accomplishment to help families and individuals create a life that is tailored to them rather than trying to fit into a social norm.
Similarly, as a neurodivergent, late diagnosed, being self employed and in co-operation with the corporate sector, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the impact of neurology in respect to business development, workplace expectations, workplace accommodations and the requirement of fair and ethical treatment of neurodivergent individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We can tell you as much as possible about how we work and our experience, however our feedback from clients is the best example of our work!
"Other providers I have worked with over the past 40 years have not understood the root of my neurology, including those over the past eight years who were supposedly trained and experienced in identifying and providing counselling or therapy to autistic individuals. Lisa's coaching is very practical and I appreciate her allowing me to communicate via my preferred mode of writing, which other providers have discouraged."
